HOW TO GET A JOB IN A FINANCIAL COMPANY?

I would not make a new discovery by saying that financial world is one of the most appealing fields where each one would like to step in and make steps towards becoming a professional. I am pretty sure you will all agree with me that nowadays finance is one of the most competitive and prestigious professions existing in the world. Big money, beautiful cars and huge houses are what attract and motivate young people to get education especially in this field, as they think they will possess all these by entering the boundless world of finance that has the highest volumes of money. Some people may say that this is a prejudice to think so, but let us not forget that all of us grow up watching that movies full of Wall Street affairs, World banks, hedge funds and various large financial corporations with the smartest Harvard graduated employees that become rich in a few years. That is why all of us are driven to achieve that kind of living and we are especially motivated to take part in this overtalked and overshown sphere of finance.
However, everything is not as easy as it may seem from the first sight, because after the graduation everyone faces the same problem: how to find a job in a financial company with potential?
In fact, by taking into consideration my own life and work experience I can state that there are some vital features to pay attention to when looking for a job.
  1. The first important thing each employee should have is the passion and strong motivation. If you have made up your mind to become a financial specialist, than you should struggle and achieve your goals. You should not give up, when someone closes the door in front of you, but instead, you must get up and try again. Do not believe all those who say that you cannot do that! They are just envy.
  2. Of course you need to have appropriate knowledge. If you want to apply for a job in a financial company, it is important to have wide knowledge about finance. Be sure, your diploma without knowledge would be worth nothing.
  3. Well, do not forget to have a perfectly created CV. As it is known a CV introduces you and shows your professional qualifications. Try to avoid and not include wrong information in your CV, because during the interview you will be in a quite awkward situation if your employer finds out that you are lying. Remember the better constructed the CV the better impression you will make.
  4. The forth important thing is self-confidence. If you are smart, if you are sure about your knowledge and your abilities, than you should be very confident and not get confused during the interview. Let me tell you a secret. Actually, self-confident people immediately attract employers ;)
While writing this article I remembered for a moment all the difficulties I passed through (when I was a young guy) to find the job that would best correspond both to my knowledge and to my desires. I struggled a lot. At first I had many refusals and the main reason was the absence of experience. But due to my strong will, my knowledge and my abilities I finally found it. The job of my dreams. Now I am a project manager and I am working in one of the most popular financial companies in the world and what is the most important I love my job.
