Amazon.cоm, Inc. or simply Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world. The company was founded in 1994, by an American entrepreneur Jeff Bezos. The company offers its customers a wide range of products and services through its Websites. Besides offering its own products, the company also offers third-party products across various categories. Nowadays, Amazon.cоm is one of the most popular and the most recognizable names across the world. However, there are still someinteresting facts about the company you have probably never heard of.

Did you know that Jeff Bezos originally wanted to name the company “Cadabra” as in “Abracadabra”? But that idea was struck down, because the lawyer of Jess Bezos misheard the word as “cadaver”. So, he changed his mind and instead decided to call the company Amazon.cоm. He came up with the name Amazon.cоm for two reason: one, to suggest scale (Amazon.cоm launched with the tagline “Earth’s biggest book store”) and two, back then website listings were often alphabetical, so his company's name would come up first in website listings.
